The Paris Roommates Series by Ava Miles

The Paris Roommates is a series that has “Emily in Paris” vibes with a cast of characters similar to the tv show, “Friends.” The series follows the stories of 6 friends and roommates who last spent their time in France working at Nadine’s restaurant, years ago. They are reunited and back in France to help Nadine again after an unfortunate incident.

Thea Rogers is the good girl baker from Small Town, USA (near Iowa). Dean Harris is the restless dreamer from the San Francisco. Brooke Adams is the driven fashion designer from New York. Dr. Sawyer Jackson is the charismatic professor from the Washington Metro area. Madison Garcia is the rebel chef from Miami, Florida. Kyle Taylor is the disillusioned golden boy from Austin, Texas. They seem the unlikeliest of friends but somehow complement each other and have each other’s backs.

The series has a book for each of the 6 characters. Each book focuses on primarily on one of the friends and their story as well as their relationship with one another. As of now, there are 2 books published. Ava Miles is working on the other books in the series. A third book is anticipated to be released later this year (2024) about Brooke.

The first book is on Thea, a pasty chef and home town girl who is more naive. She undergoes quite the transformation as she spends more time in Paris adjusting to the Parisian lifestyle. On her first day back, she falls in love with a man she nicknames “Mr. Pinstripes. “ The gentleman, Jean Luc, is a devilishly handsome man with a penchant for wearing tailored suits and Nadine’s lawyer. It’s love at first sight for her. An unexpected coincidence brings these lovebirds together. Thea is offered a new job back home owning her own bakery. She must make a tough choice between her love and life in Paris or her career.

The second book is on Dean, a whimsical dreamer. He is a venture capitalist and entrepreneur in the tech industry. He is always on the lookout for the latest “it” idea. Paris is a refreshing change of pace for him. While in Paris, he meets meets his dream girl, the charming Jacqueline. While he tries to balance work and helping Nadine’s restaurant, his new relationship with Jaqueline puts him in a complique situation. He must decide what he really wants and if his dream and dream girl are for keeps.

I enjoyed the books so far. I felt like I was meandering the streets of Paris. I wanted to eat Thea’s pastries and have a cup of coffee with the characters in the book. The way their friendship endures and the bond they share together while supporting each other’s lives. They really become a close nit group as their own version of a family living abroad. I can’t wait to read the other books and catch their next adventure. I have pre-ordered the next book which I rarely do.

I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys travel and curious what it’s like living in a foreign country. It also has some funny antidotes on misunderstandings with cultural differences and languages. It’s a light hearted series but it still captivates you into their lives and own internal struggles. I want to live next door to these friends in real life.

I also enjoyed the background of Paris for the story. France was one of the first countries that I visited in Europe. Reading these books made me want to visit France again. It has a special place in my heart from my own experiences.

You can purchase Thea’s story and Dean’s story from Amazon.

You can order Brooke’s story here.
